Enjoying TaskScratch? An App Store review helps other people discover it and means a lot to an indie developer.
Found something broken? Email us with as much detail as possible — device, iOS/macOS version, and steps to reproduce.
Yes. TaskScratch uses iCloud CloudKit to sync your collections, lists, and tasks across all of your Apple devices automatically. Just make sure you're signed into the same iCloud account on each device and that iCloud is enabled.
Only you. TaskScratch stores your data in Apple's private CloudKit database — associated with your personal Apple ID. We have no servers, no accounts, and no access to your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
The Scratchpad is a built-in private notepad for quick thoughts and rough notes. It is stored only on your local device and never synced to iCloud — by design. If you delete the app or switch devices, Scratchpad content is not transferred. Use it for things that should stay private and local.
On iOS, swipe left on the collection or list row and tap Delete. On macOS, right-click (or Control-click) the item in the sidebar and choose Delete. You'll be asked to confirm before anything is permanently removed. Deleting a collection removes all lists and tasks inside it.
TaskScratch supports exporting lists and collections as plain text or formatted Markdown via the system share sheet. Tap the share button on any list or collection to send a snapshot. Real-time collaborative editing is not currently available.
The Today tab (on iOS) or Today section (on macOS) automatically surfaces tasks that are overdue, due today, or due within the next 7 days — across all your collections. Just set a due date on any task and it will appear here at the right time.
When you open a task's detail view, you can add rich notes using Markdown. A toolbar lets you apply formatting like bold, italic, headings, and lists. Toggle between edit and preview modes using the eye icon. On macOS, the toolbar wraps selected text with the chosen format. Full-screen editing mode is also available.
TaskScratch requires iOS 17.6 or later on iPhone and iPad, or macOS 14.6 (Sonoma) or later on Mac. It is a native Universal app — one purchase covers all your Apple devices.
TaskScratch is a one-time purchase with no subscription required. Download it from the App Store to get started.
On Mac, TaskScratch adds an icon to your menu bar. Click it to see today's tasks, mark tasks complete, and quickly open or quit the app — without switching windows. If you close the main window, TaskScratch continues running in the background so the menu bar extra stays accessible.
First, verify you're signed into iCloud on all devices under Settings → [Your Name]. Then check that iCloud Drive is enabled for TaskScratch under Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud. If sync is still delayed, it's usually a temporary iCloud server delay — give it a few minutes. You can also try toggling iCloud off and back on for the app.
Delete the TaskScratch app from your device. To also remove synced data from iCloud, go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → TaskScratch → Delete Data. This will remove all iCloud-stored data. Scratchpad data is local-only and is removed when the app is deleted.
